I was transferred to Dr Willis from another clinic and doctor, so I didn’t know what to expect. Also, I was mid-process to undergo surgery, and I felt skeptical about changing doctors in the middle of this situation. The doctor and her intern did a nice job of leading into the discussion and establishing a comfort level, while also sharing good information about what to expect next. I was pleased with the experience and my fears were allayed, so I’m proceeding ahead with more confidence!

I felt very valued which I am finding more and more rare based on my age. I have had the feeling of being "placed on The Shelf" so to speak by others in the Medical Field.. Even had a Physician state I really didn't need to keep a OB/GYN...because I didn't have a uterus any longer. True, but I am still a whole woman with needs to have a Well Woman exam annually. So, yes, Alyson values all patients I assume. I am an example.

She's the BEST!

During my visit, a medical resident entered the room and asked a very large number of questions in a rapid, checklist-style manner without first reviewing my chart or establishing rapport. The interaction felt rushed and impersonal, and the tone came across as judgmental rather than patient-centered. The resident stated they were going to perform a pelvic exam rather than asking for my consent or discussing it beforehand. When I expressed discomfort, there appeared to be miscommunication and a lack of acknowledgment of my concerns. Clear consent, explanation, and patient comfort are especially important during sensitive exams, and I did not feel those standards were met. Overall, the encounter would have benefited from better communication, active listening, informed consent, and a more respectful, collaborative approach to care. I don’t even recall her introducing herself by name, just that she was a resident.

Shows concern about people.

I only spent less than 5 minutes with her so I didn't develop much of an opinion, I wish she explained to me more about what the nurses were telling me and my next steps.

The visit was not the problem. It was after that is the problem. I make my appointment a year out, but still it was over a year last time.
