Doctor was great. I was able to actually sit down and have a discussion with him and have my questions answered. At another health system, I feel “managed” and my own input on my own care is disregarded or not brought up. Ancillary staff did not sit down with me and review my current meds.

Dr. Simotas was a great listener, he patiently and informatively explained my situation and how I should best treat it, and made me very comfortable in trusting his diagnosis and advice. He had a wonderful manner and I would recommend him wholeheartedly.

Dr. Simotas is one of the best doctor’s I’ve interacted with at HSS. He’s primarily focused on healing, whereas others jump right into discussing elaborate, expensive surgeries. As someone who’s nervous following many prior surgeries, he made me feel really comfortable.

Dr. Simotas spends all the time necessary to explain the problem, diagnose and treat the pain so effectively every time. He is caring and exacting and has time over time effectively made my pain disappear. A wonderful doctor.

Dr Simotas has exceeded all my expectations and helped to alleviate my lumbar spine pain which radiates. Previously I did see another HSS physiatrist who was unsuccessful addressing pain.
