I would have liked to be told to bring my pap machine, mask, airtube etc to my appointment. I could not get an appointment for 5 mos..

Dr Schaffer was awesome. He took more than enough time with me and explained everything I needed to know. Hopefully I get my cpap machine quickly and I can start sleeping a lot better then I have in the past 15 plus years

It seems he started with an assumption that I have sleep apnea and that I will be needing a CPAP machine. He did seem to think the (required) home sleep study would not reveal necessary information, and the in-house sleep study would be more definitive. This is yet another anticipated delay.

I had not followed up on my sleep apnea in a very long time and he didn’t make me feel bad about it. My machine was very old but I felt it worked good and only went because my husband thought I needed an up to date machine. I’ve lost quite a bit of weight since initial evaluation and after another study it’s possible I won’t need the machine. Dr. Schaefer is requesting approval from insurance for a new study.
