Dr Afghani always combines a very knowledgeable professional manner with real kindness, caring, respect, and a good sense of humor. She communicates very clearly and knows how to put you at ease about serious medical concerns. Even while being a top level academic clinician in her chosen area of expertise, she still maintains a wonderful bedside manner. She embodies all the best of Hopkins' excellence.

One of the finest and most effective I've ever known. Two years ago she diagnosed and treated me successfully for a chronic diarrhea I'd had for twenty years, despite consulting several GI specialists without success.

Dr. Afghani listened very well to what I had to say and was very responsive to my questions, answering them directly but in a manner that was clear. She took her time in explaining my condition and recommendations for next steps. I was very happy with the experience.

Dr. Afghani is extremely professional and knowledgeable. Her expertise with pancreatic cancer is obvious. She takes her time to listen to all my questions and answers each one fully. She is friendly and approachable with an excellent bedside manner.

Doctor Afghani was extremely kind. She explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and put my mind at ease. She was very thorough and took a lot of time to discuss. She even saw me early because she knew I was waiting for my afternoon appointment and then going to fly back to North Carolina.
